At Rookie Kids, we carry Nike, Jordan, Levi's, Converse, and Hurley across our stores, and each brand fits a little differently. This guide brings every size chart together so you can shop with confidence.

How to measure your child at home
Before you look at any chart, get two measurements: foot length (for shoes) and chest, waist, and height (for clothing). It takes less than five minutes and removes all the guesswork.
Trace the foot
Stand your child on a sheet of paper and trace around their foot, keeping the pen vertical.
Measure heel to toe
Measure the longest distance in centimetres. Do both feet — use the larger measurement.
Add growing room
Add 0.8–1 cm for comfortable fit and growing room. Children's feet grow fast — check every 3 months.
Match to chart
Use the foot length (in cm) to find the right size in each brand's chart below.
💡 Rookie Tip
Measure in the afternoon — feet are slightly larger after a day of activity and this gives a truer fit. Always measure standing, not sitting.

Nike footwear
Nike kids footwear is split into three categories: Toddler (TD), Pre-School (PS), and Grade School (GS). For most children aged 7 and above, you'll be shopping in the Grade School range — these are the iconic silhouettes like the Air Force 1 and Dunk Low in kid sizes.
Nike Fit Tip
Nike GS shoes run true to size but we recommend sizing up half a US size if your child wears thick socks or their foot is between two sizes. The Nike "Lace It Up" collection currently in-store has a slightly roomier toe box — perfect for active kids.

Nike kids clothing
Nike clothing sizes are based on age and chest measurement. The Nike "In The Zone" and "Victory Lap" collections — both available now at Rookie Kids — use standard Nike sizing.

Jordan footwear
Jordan Brand uses the same PS/GS system as Nike (they share sizing infrastructure), but Jordan silhouettes like the Air Jordan 1 and Jordan 6 have specific fit notes. The "Love Is In The Air" and "In The Paint" collections — both live on Rookie Kids right now — feature Grade School sizing.
Jordan Fit Tip
Air Jordan 1s in GS sizing tend to run half a size small due to the stiff leather upper. Go up half a size. Jordan 6 and Jordan 11 run true to size with a wider toe box — great for wider feet.

Jordan kids clothing
Jordan Brand clothing runs similarly to Nike. The "Flowers Of Friendship" collection has a relaxed, slightly oversized fit — size down if your child prefers a more fitted look.

Levi's kids jeans & bottoms
Levi's kids sizing is based on waist and length (slim, regular, husky). The "Bearhug" and "Coastal Creative" collections — both available at Rookie Kids — use Levi's standard kids sizing. Important note: Levi's kids denim runs slim through the waist. If your child is between sizes, size up.

Levi's Fit Tip
Levi's 511 Slim and 510 Skinny run very slim — consider the 514 Straight or 505 Regular for more comfort room. The Bearhug collection has a specially designed soft waistband that adjusts 2–3 cm, making it ideal if your child is between sizes.
Converse footwear
Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars are iconic — but they size differently from Nike. Converse runs large and has no arch support, which affects fit. The "Bleacher Society" collection at Rookie Kids is available in Pre-School and Grade School sizing.
Converse Fit Tip
Converse Chuck Taylors typically run 1–1.5 sizes larger than Nike. If your child is a Nike GS 4, try a Converse 3. The canvas upper has some give, so err on the side of a snugger initial fit.

Hurley kids sizing is straightforward and age-based. Board shorts and swimwear use waist measurement. Hurley tops run true to size with a slightly relaxed, surfer-inspired fit — perfect for warm-weather beach and pool lifestyle.

Frequently asked questions
How do I measure my child's shoe size at home?
Place your child's foot on a sheet of paper in the afternoon (feet expand slightly during the day), trace around it keeping the pencil vertical, and measure from heel to the longest toe. Add 0.8–1 cm for growing room, then match to the brand charts above.
Do Nike kids sizes run true to size?
Nike kids footwear generally runs true to size, but we recommend sizing up half a US size for children whose feet are growing quickly, or for shoes worn with thick sports socks. If your child is between sizes, go up.
What is the difference between PS and GS sizing?
PS (Pre-School) covers roughly ages 4–7, typically US 10.5C–3Y. GS (Grade School) starts at US 3.5Y and goes to 7Y, covering ages 7–14. The GS range carries far more styles and colourways — it's the sweet spot for most kids at Rookie.
Are Levi's kids jeans true to size?
Levi's kids denim runs slim, especially through the waist. For a comfortable fit — particularly the 511 Slim and 510 Skinny — size up one. The Bearhug collection has an adjustable waistband so it's more forgiving between sizes.

How often should I re-measure my child?
Children's feet can grow up to 2 cm per year between ages 4–12. We recommend remeasuring every 3 months for younger children (4–8) and every 6 months for older kids (8–16).
